Yes! Yellowgrape has been nominated for the Battle of the Agencies — the competition where creativity meets conversion in the email channel. No fictional pitch, but a real assignment from a real client: this year, that's none other than the KNVB. The challenge? Create a smart, effective and creative email campaign that hits the crossroads. And let that be exactly what we, as Yellowgrape, love.

What is the Battle of the Agencies?

The Battle of the Agencies is an annual competition organized by DDMA, the industry association for data driven marketing. Their mission: to show how powerful and responsible marketing can be if you know how to smartly combine data, creativity and technology. During this battle, the best agencies compete against each other, each with a proposal for an innovative email strategy around a central customer case.

The stakes? A sharp, working email campaign, assessed for creativity, strategy, execution and impact. So no castles in the air, but ideas that can land, build and convert.

KNVB as client

This edition focuses on the KNVB. A name that rings a bell throughout the Netherlands — and that makes it extra interesting. Because how do you make email really work for such a broad and passionate audience? How do you ensure that every message not only arrives, but also encourages action?

Exactly the kind of issue that we at Yellowgrape are stuck in. For us, technology and creativity work hand in hand — just like a striker and a playmaker. From smart segmentation to original formats, we build email campaigns that people don't just click on, they wait for.

More than just a nomination

We are extremely proud of this recognition. Not because it looks great on the website (okay, that kind of thing), but mainly because it touches on what we're good at: conversion-oriented thinking, daring to be creative, and building email campaigns that make a difference.

And no, it's not our first time on the battlefield — we were also in the Battle Final earlier. But this new nomination feels as fresh as a well-timed 90th minute cross.

Now the real work begins: from now on, we are building a smashing campaign for the KNVB, in which strategy, creativity and performance merge into a winning email case. On June 26, we'll hear — together with our fellow nominees Ematters and MandAd — who ultimately convinces the jury. Until then: build, polish and, above all, enjoy the process.
